Scan the can, rate it, and Beer Vault works out where it sits against everything else you've drunk. It's yours first: nothing leaves your phone unless you turn friends on.

What it does
A beer log that is yours first.

Check in in seconds
Search more than 350 well-known beers, scan the can or bottle, or type your own. Rate it out of five, or go deeper with marks for look, aroma, flavour, mouthfeel, head and temperature.

Ranked, not just starred
Stars get crowded. After a check-in it asks "better or worse?" against beers you rated the same, and the new one takes its exact place. You get a score out of ten, overall and within any style.

Friends, if you want them
Turn on Vault Social and take a handle. No email and no password. Add people with a link or by scanning the code on their phone. There's no directory and there are no strangers.

A list of what to try next
Tap Want to try on a friend's check-in and it lands on your list, with who put you onto it. Check it in later and it ticks itself off.

A flavour wheel and a serving guide
Around ninety tasting words grouped by where the flavour comes from, and the right glass and temperature for nearly a hundred styles, from cask bitter to gueuze.

Your log is yours
Everything lives on your phone. Backup and CSV export are free, always. Coming from Untappd? Importing your history is free too.

Beer Vault is free and has no adverts. One payment unlocks the extras, if you want them.

The log, the ranking, the flavour wheel, the serving guide, your year in beer and the monthly challenge are all free. So are backup, CSV export and importing from Untappd, because charging someone to move their own records in or out would be a poor way to behave.
Friends are free too, and optional. Nothing leaves the phone until you turn them on.
Beer Vault Pro is one payment for your taste profile, what to try next, the brewery table and month by month history.
Looks are separate small purchases. Beer Vault comes in stout black and old gold; the rest take their colours from well-known labels and are named after the places they come from.
Drink responsibly. This app counts, it does not encourage: every challenge is about trying something different rather than drinking more, and nothing is ever ranked by how much you got through.
Privacy and support
Your log stays on this phone. Nothing is shared until you turn friends on, and then only what you switch on for that check-in. The full privacy policy says exactly what is kept and what is sent.
