Terms of use

The short version: Fillo shows you fuel prices as they were given to it. The price on the pump is the one you pay, so check it before you fill up.

The agreement

Fillo is an app made by Pikeworks, a sole trader in Northern Ireland. By using it you agree to these terms. If you do not, please uninstall it.

What Fillo is

Fillo shows fuel prices, opening times and other details for fuel stations in the UK and the Republic of Ireland, and ranks them by the choices you make.

Fillo is not official. It uses official UK Fuel Finder data. It is not affiliated with GOV.UK, any government department or any fuel retailer, and none of them has checked or endorsed it.

Prices can be wrong. UK prices are the ones retailers report to Fuel Finder, shown exactly as they gave them, with the time each price was set. A retailer can be late or make a mistake. Prices in the Republic are added by other drivers and may be out of date. Opening times, fuels sold and other details can be wrong too. Drive distances and the cost of the drive are estimates. Always check the price at the pump.

Nobody pays for a place. No station, brand or retailer can pay to be shown higher, or to hide anyone else. The only things that hide a station are the choices you make, and the list always says how many are hidden.

Driving

Do not use Fillo while you drive. Choose a station and start your sat nav before you set off, or ask a passenger. Obey the road signs and your sat nav's own warnings, not Fillo's distance estimate.

Reports and prices you add

Reports and prices help every driver, so please make them true. Report only what you have seen, and add a price in the Republic only when you are at the station and can see it. Do not send reports or prices to mislead, to favour or harm a station, or in bulk.

Reports never change an official UK price. Pikeworks may hide or remove any report or price, and may stop accepting them from any copy of the app that sends false ones, without notice. By adding a price you let Pikeworks show it to other drivers in Fillo.

Free, and Plus

Fillo is free to use, with every filter, alerts, the widget and reports included. Fillo Plus is a one-off purchase through Google Play or the App Store that adds extras, such as saved setups for more than one vehicle, 90 days of price history, and more themes and app icons. There is no subscription. Tips are one-off payments that say thanks and add nothing to the app. Refunds go through the store you bought from, under its rules.

Fillo may show adverts to people who have not bought Plus in a later version. The privacy policy will say so before any version with adverts is released.

Where the prices come from

Brand names are the trade marks of their owners. Fillo shows them as plain text to say which station is which, and uses no logos.

Availability and liability

Fillo is provided as it is. I work to keep the prices current and the server running, but I cannot promise they will always be available, complete or correct. When the prices are out of date, Fillo says how old they are.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, and your statutory rights as a consumer are not affected. Beyond that, and as far as the law allows, Pikeworks is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, for a price that differs at the pump, for a journey to a station that was closed or out of fuel, or for anything a sat nav app does, and any liability is limited to what you paid for Fillo Plus.

Changes

If these terms change, the date at the top changes and the new version replaces this one.

Law

These terms are governed by the law of Northern Ireland, United Kingdom, and its courts have jurisdiction. If you live elsewhere in the United Kingdom, in the Republic of Ireland or elsewhere in the EU, you keep the protections of your own local law.
