The short version: the game is free and has adverts, one payment takes them away, and your games live on your phone.

The agreement

Sudoku Nine is a game made by Pikeworks, a sole trader in Northern Ireland. By installing it you agree to these terms. If you don't, please uninstall it.

What you get

The game is free to play, with adverts. You can play it on any device you own. You can't sell it, take it apart to pass off as your own, or use it to break the law.

Adverts

Adverts are served by Google AdMob. There's a banner on the menus and a full screen advert after a finished puzzle, never during one. You can also choose to watch an advert in return for something, such as an extra hint. In the UK and Europe the app asks first whether adverts can be personalised, and you can change that answer at any time in Settings under Privacy choices.

Purchases

Nine Complete and Just remove adverts are one-off payments, not subscriptions. They're handled by Google Play or the App Store, so the store takes the payment and its own terms apply to it. What you've bought stays bought, and it comes back on a phone signed in to the same store account. Refunds are the store's to give, and your rights as a consumer are unaffected.

Your games and statistics

Everything is kept on your phone. There's no account and I run no server for the game, so I hold no copy and can't restore anything you lose. Settings has Back up everything, which writes a file, and Export solves as CSV. Use them before you change phone.

Availability and liability

The game is provided as it is, and works offline. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law, and your statutory rights as a consumer aren't affected. Beyond that, and as far as the law allows, Pikeworks isn't liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost data or lost progress, and any liability is limited to what you've paid for purchases in the twelve months before the claim.

Law

These terms are governed by the law of Northern Ireland, and its courts have jurisdiction. If you live elsewhere in the United Kingdom or in the EU, you keep the protections of your own local law.
